Added WiP Pages :-) [last update 2003/04/07 18:04]

I figured out what Gevin stands for (and it is Italian allright): "Giouochi Elettronici Ed Elettromeccanici" How that became Gevin is anybodys Guess...

On another (and more ta-daa) note I've added a WiP Page, from where you'll be able to see what I'm tinkering with at the moment - theres good stuff in there :-) open the WiP Page

Pacman [last update 2003/03/28 21:25]

Thanks to a friend I got hold of a Pacman board today.

Its from a machine much like my bubble bobble. I guess I will have to alter that cabinet so it's possible to turn the screen and switch between the two games. :-)

The PCB is a bit of a mystery. It has no logos or anything except for a couple of labels in one corner. I don't think this is an original pacman board - but it may be an original mystic man with packman roms - or something. anyhow I've put some pcb images over to the right.

If you know what this is email me please!

(oh - the small "extra" borad is a late addition by the (danish) company making the arcade machines..

Gevin Intervideo Globetrotter 30" [last update 2003/04/12 14:42]

This is the main arcademachine.

Its an Itallian made 30" Neo Geo 4 Slot machine - with a two player set-up. Its actually a very-very nice machine - and it mint condition. (only played 5600 games according to the mechanical counter inside)..

I've done nothing with this machine... EXCEPT built a MAME PC into it. The job is very subtle, and I'm currently waiting for a MultiJamma switch allowing to switch between the Neo Geo and the PC..

The PC is wired into the jamma harness through a J-Pac and then theres other minor modifications to allow the operation of the pc (power botton, reset button, misc. leds - extra speakers etc).

I guess I will take some pictures of the different mods next time I get to open the cabinet up.

Today I got around to get the pictures taken, here we go; [Back side Off with Mounting supports in place, Added a Power Outtake for the PC, Built Pc onto Board (Top, Bottom, Front), Added PC Speakers to Cabinet, Put the Pc in Place, The Final Assembly)

Its a heavy sucker - at 80+ kg's. And too big to get though the door - I had to disassemble the machine (control board & monitor + housing) from the main cabinet in order to get it into the room :-)

Bubble Bobble [last update 2003/03/25 08:05]

This cabinet is a dedicated upright made by a Danish Company.

Currently the Coin door is being fixed as well as the video controller board. The monitor has some burn-in due to a collapsed upper third of the image area (which is whats getting fixed).

The board may be original Taito - but I'm unsure - theres no visible logo or anything on it. I guess I will put up pic's of  the PCB when I get around to dissassembling it.

When I got this machine it was so dirty you could hardly see the screen for muck!... It still needs some cleanup - and minor woodwork restoration of the footstands. Beyond that its a nice enough machine. It has a "kind-of" jamma wiering harness - except is is only 42 (2x21) pins...

My Addams Family Pinball [last update 2003/03/25 08:05]

This is the darn thin that started the whole thing :-)

The machine and playfield is in very nice condition.

There are some damage to the cabinet (typical transport damage).

Theres a small problem where a secondary lamp will light up along with the primary - except much dimmer.

I guess I have to fix it at some point. Click the image for a much larger view.

Gevin Intervideo Dual Frequency Arcade Monitor Instruction Manual [last update 2003/03/25 08:05]

My Main arcademachine (the HUGE Gevin cabinet) has a rather unusual 30" monitor in it - it is in fact capable of running on both 15.75 as 25KHz (which is actually 24.39 in this monitor).
I had real trouble getting any information on this screen as the Gevin Intervideo company seems to have folded sometime between 1998 and 2002. Anyhow I managed to get hold of an original manual (thanks Peter) - and for anybody else here it is in pdf Format. The manual is dual language (Itallian & English). You can open / download the .pdf in high-res -> here <- (100 MB !!) or in low(er)-res -> here <- (20 MB)

Theres nothing much here now except a pdf of the Neo Geo Service Manual for one of the machines. You can open / download the .pdf -> here <- (30 MB)

I'll Add more as I go Along
